About the desk
It’s So Wrong is a staff-edited consumer magazine. The spoken name is It’s So Wrong. The working domain is itsowrong.com (one s). A two-s name exists in a separate restore and is not this site.
We steal Consumerist’s beat — a company practice, written up — and Not Always Right’s habit of editing before anything goes live. We do not steal People of Walmart’s camera, and we do not open a Reddit clone and hope ads appear.
What you are voting on
Votes attach to a moderated story about a claim, an object, or a public practice. They do not attach to a person, a body, or a group. The four buttons mean:
- Wrong — the claim, design, or practice fails the sniff test.
- Really wrong — documented bait-and-switch, hidden fee, or safety fail.
- Worst idea ever — a product, policy, or campaign that should not have shipped.
- Actually Fine — it is legal, standard, or the photo is missing context. This button is the game and the safety valve.
In this first build, a vote lives in your browser’s localStorage. One vote per story per browser. We cannot see it. There is no ranking for a bot farm to buy.
Who writes this
Staff, for now. Tips are welcome; they sit in a queue and do not publish themselves. There is no open forum, no rising tab, and no anonymous image dump on this domain.
What we will not do
No gore. No votes on whether a group of people “are wrong.” No slurs as labels. No photos of strangers for mockery. No doxxing. No kids as subjects. No invented traffic, CPM, or revenue on these pages. No ad code in version 1.

Not in the home river. After Dark is a closed year-2 door. If we cannot staff a second moderator, it stays closed.
